Staff is great. Much attention to detail and hospitality. Very nice at getting to know and interact w/ the guests. They were great w/ our two toddlers who traveled there with us. We had a few problems initially w/ our room, but they were fast and responsive. Thanks for that.

Solid service, overhyped, overpriced.

johnno and i both wanted to stay somewhere away from it all, and the chedi offered just that. we found the resort beautifully relaxing with a compliment of staff that were both courteous, helpful and accommodating.

This hotel is an embarrassment to the GHM brand of hotels. The group should either sell it or do a total revamp and retrain staff. The list is VERY long.....I will just name a few: The hotel is very out-dated (built in 1995 – 12 yrs ago and not a single touh-up). The bathrooms are old and disgusting. All the facilities are run-down. Service is appalling -NOT at all Asian standards. No poolside service. No beach-side service (only way to get drinks are from the kids selling canned drinks on the beach). The restaurant was permanently messy during the breakfast buffet. Not enough staff to pick up/change dishes, clean tables. The pool and pool area smelled of sewage (like filthy water/poop). There were dishes/glasses lying around – as not enough staff to attend. This hotel was full of German charter tourists. This is the only type of tourists the hotel will continue to attract given its poor quality standards. .

Good for honey mooners and people who absolutely want to relax.
But for me access to internet important and more evening and pool facilities would have been nice

The Chedi is an amazing hotel in a beautiful location the only thing is about the rooms I though they were bigger and the shower was not possible at all due to the tap which was not a tap mixer tap !! so we were playing with cold and hot !
Also in the evening nothing was happening in the hotel, no animations, no people, ... it was a bit sad after the sun rising.

Surin Beach is wunderfull and there is a thai restaurant at the beach, not belonging to the hotel, which allowes you to also eat lunch and drink all day long to thai prices. Hotel Rooms are very pritty and clean. Roomservice was unbelivable fast. There are many stepps to reach the Hillside Hotel Rooms. Make shure you are fit for that. Hotel-Airport-Transfers are not included in the rate as well as the use of the internet. Unbelivable, that Hotelguests can not use free internet at such high rates. The Patong-Bus-Shuttle at 9pm is free. Reservations for the shuttle must be made early in advance, since there are only about 8 places available.
