Fantastic hotel, with great facilities. Especially suitable for small children. Fabulous sandy swimming pool, where they can stand and dig with their buckets and spades! Great restaurants, especially as you are free to move between the related resorts to use their facilities.

I chose this place since it was the Sheraton - and the experience was totally contrary to what the Sheraton brand stands for. The locale is nice and and the lagoon looks nice from far...get closer and you see how dirty it is, and the rotting stench is awful...I would not stay at this this hotel just for that one thing! How can a 5* property allow this to happen? Further, very few of the hotel staff spoke English, and service was super-shoddy...they bring shame to Thai hospitality. The room was nice, although not exactly 5* standard - we had a 20" CRT TV in the room - even motels have better! There were hits and misses with the food - breakfast was great and had great variety - but we had a bad experience at the bar where we ordered a pepperoni pizza from the menu as a post dinner snack and got a ham and cheese pizza instead - the waitress insisted that the chef confirmed that ham is the same as pepperoni - we returned the pizza and went on to order burgers through room service, which were quite nice. We left a message for the manager to convey our displeasure and never heard from her. I would not pay US$450 / night for this shoddy treatment again.

The Villas are fabulous, spacious, clean, with ample facilities. The food in the restaurants was excellent, although they lacked a little amtmosphere (in part due to there being relatively few holiday guests and in part due to the transient conference guests of which there were many). The lots od private space around the pool and in the gardens, staff wonderfully helpful and friendly as you would expect. Only real criticism is the limited evening entertainment, nothing local/thai and missed the mark with the audience (what few turned up to listen).

Hotel is half hour ride away from Patong Beach & half hour from Phuket town. Great staff, breakfast buffet, clean rooms, the happy hour from 5 - 6 PM could be extended by 1/2 an hour - as most guests in the Villa area, dont get a chance to avail of the opportunity. The Beach area need to be better controlled, as vendors were granted full access and got to be unintentionally annoying.

Main dislike was the terrible musty smell in the room.
