Stayed in Sandalwood in room Jumpee for 5 days. Views from the room and swimming pool are excellent. No words can describe the beauty of looking down Chaweng beach from the hill. In addition, the quietness of the place really makes it a perfect place to relax, especially after a hard day at the beach. If you are looking for a peaceful hoilday with great views of the sea from a hill, Sandalwood is the ideal place. Service from the staff was very good and all our requests were understood and answered quickly. I will definitely come back to Sandalwood.

Boutique hotel designed predominately for couples.
Hotel features large well finished rooms with superb (nah make that awesome) views north over Chewang beach.
Hotel is on the side of a large hill - a difficult walk, most choose to drive/cab but it is not a problem. Taxi to main tourist beaches cost 300 Baht = $10.
Hotel has small restaurant with decent selection - all food found to be very good. hotel service is very good and nothing too much trouble - hotel pick up etc is complimentary.
Highly recommend as you get to escape the hustle and bustle with beautiful pools and views but you are also within easy reach of the tourist thing and the beach etc.

Everything about Sandlewoods was wonderful except for a very noisy inconsiderate young couple across the pool. I have no issue with the young couple being "into themselves" but when they get repeatedly drunk and behave boorishly at 3am disturbing other paying guests then I mind. Next time they should consider booking down on the beach where they would blend in nicely.

Fantastic place with a view that takes your breath away. The staff was very friendly and service minded. I was staying at one of the new villas and cannot say anything about the standard of the older rooms, but mine was beautiful. My only complaints would be that there was some sort of problem with the hot water (turning from cold to too hot and then cold again) and the fact that I almost was late to my flight because none of the staff available was allowed to handle check-out and it took the manager 20 minutes to get there (even though I had ordered a tranport to the airport...)
