This hotel caters for european package holidays.Because of this the hotel does operate as the four star hotel.The structure is predetermined and a take it or leave attitude.With full payment required on arrival.This is not normal in asia and creates a lazy and arrogant attitude of the staff mainly on reception area.I travel extensively on business and short breaks in the region and can honestly say this was the wrong hotel for frequent travellers in the area.Package holiday makers from europe would probably not have the same opinion.

We had a great stay at the Merlon. Rooms were comfortable and situated overlooking the pool. Good location to shops, nightlife and beach.
