I ordered a de Luxe room and I get a standard, the sanitary equipment was not serviced since 20 years, a 4 star hotel should be renovated

Bathroom dirty, cockroach hiding in hairdryer cord. Room carpet stained and torn. Bedsheets clean but torn. No room safe, no tea and coffee making facilities. Breakfast selection poor, orange juice was cordial/squash rather than proper juice. TV channels poor selection. No pool towels available.

Great staff and hospitality, location to all facilities good. If you want to visit beach ie Patong etc it is a bit of a taxi ride or 1 hr bus trip, but still fun.

The hotel in general is OK, breakfast was good.
The hotel and rooms smelt stale and dusty, bedroom was clean but bathroom was in need of an update. Hotel seemed like it needed all windows opened as the air was stale and stuffy. My friend with her baby also stayed in another room, but found this to be dirty, ripped sheets with used condom under the bed!! They were quick to move her to another room.
We were put into a smoking room, which has stale air and smelt of smoke. Non smoking room was not available.
Location was OK, but Phuket town has little to offer and I would not stay in this location again, despite it being near the ferries.

Need to change room due to non-smoking room was given. Has to split floor due to the above. Service and response from from are good.

I stayed at the Metropole hotel for 28 nights and I am more than pleased with it. The service was eycellent form the beginning to the end. I needed a quiet room for my studies and thats what I got. The condition of the hotel is exquisite and the staff really makes the difference. Always friendly and always a smile. I will certainly return (if Asia Web Direct can provide a great deal again ;-) ) and I will definitely tell all my family and friends. The Metropole is not without reason the best hotel in Phuket Town.

So convenience location where you can go to take food(plenty of choices), shopping and even market without using Taxi or bus. Hotel staffs are friendly and always greet with smile where you can feel like home.
