Lanta Palace provided exactly what I paid for: a 3 star hotel on a Ko Lanta Beach. Perhaps it was due to being low season, but as the beach was always littered with rubbish (glass/plastic bottles, lighters, scrap, etc), I spent more time by the pool. The beach itself is not ideal for swimming due to its rocky nature, through entry and some swimming is possibly during high tide. I rarely saw anyone who worked at the resort, so it was very hard to get services (information, Internet, food, drinks etc), but breakfast was served (slowly) daily and was filling. Upon arrival, no intro to the facilities were provided, and I discoverd the upstairs fitness facility only on the last day of my stay. OVerall, a good place to use as a base to explore the island. Nearby restaurant Ban Peek Mai was great, too!
