This hotel is in an excellent location, rare to find a hotel right on the beach. There was a lack of atmoosphere though and the pool bar lacked both friendliness and service, common to see 5 to 7 people standing around chatting and you had to interrupt them to request a drink. There is no service in the hotel after about 10:00. You could shoot a canon through the lobby, literally no guests.

Loved tjhe view and the decor of the room.
Loved the breakfast. Never seen so many different dishes. Gret, that it was offered for several hours, especially early. We were jet lagged and waking up early, so early breakfast allowed us to use the day.
snorkling off the beach was fine.

The overall hotel experience was good, although it was too expensive for what it offered (THB 7700 to 9200 per night). eg. Even though we were already paying very high rates for this type of accomodation, we had to pay an additional THB 800 extra per night to get a portable bed brought in. The compulsory gala dinner also was way too expensive (a bit of a rip off actually!) at approx US$150 per person, just for the food which was quite ordinary,all drinks (even water) were at additional cost.

The waiters assumed we were locals and did not treat us with respect. Caucasian guests were eagerly greeted with a smile and coffee was served even before they sat down. We waited more than 20 minutes for coffee to be served and even that was because we asked for it. After complaining to the supervisor, we were given better treatment the next morning as he was on hand to serve us. But the other staff still treated us rudely. One of the chairs was wet and when we asked if it could be wiped, a waitress did so angrily, as if we were being very demanding. There was an obvious difference in the treatment of asian and caucasian guests. One waiter even asked what our occupations were and said that we must be paid very well to be able to stay in that hotel. Rather audacious and rude.
