The JW Marriott Resort in Phuket is a resort set away from the maddening crowd. Its well appointed and pretty much self-contained. However, it would do good to get out into town after a few days to really appreciate the tranquility upon your return. Overall,the staffing is excellent. We had an excellent time.

Visited last year where hotel and staff were excellent, however hotel 100 % full and staff could not cope. Always had a smile but not enough facilities, i.e rsstaurants at night were full and could not always get a reservation. Went for a rest but hotel also catered for children but not enough thought given to those guests without children who went for rest and relaxtion.3 pools and maybe children should have been kept to the main pool, leaving both outer pools free for peace and quiet.Steakhouse restaurant and staff were excellent however.Beach kept very clean.Asked for late checkout as late flights but were initially told that not possible due to fullness of hotel, despite us having to wait to check in due to late departure of guests, booked 2 adjacent rooms but again found that we had been booked into rooms on opposite wings. Then told that 1 room would not be ready for another hour, got in at 5.00. On entering our room found water pouring through light from air conditioning. It was however sorted in about 1/2 hour, and hotel left message next day on phone to check everything ok. On reflection, hotel good but book when not running on 100 % capacity.Little touches that were there last year were missing this year.

Very nice hotel convenientely located near the airport (but far enough!) ecellent with kids. The downside is the room service which is not optimal on cleaning and services.

The service and facilities at this hotel were excellent. I would thoroughly recommend this resort. Our experience was all positive - faultless. Combination of sophistication, style, natural beauty and warm attentive staff. Would return without hesitation.
