The hotel was what I expected but one major drawback is the mosquito problem in the main dining room, Breakfast was an ordeal as I was on the menu and had to move outside to escape the barrage of bites. I even sat in the rain and had lunch which was the one and only meal I had apart from breakfast. There is so much water features in the dining area that it is a prolific breeding ground and with so many people around a perfect food supply for our little winged friends. A great pity as it did spoil the hotel facilities.

We stayed in a junior suite, but the room was very dirty, there was a big dirty patch on the wall in the bedroom and bathroom and dirty finger prints everywhere. We complained to the hotel, but they didnt clean the walls. The hotel has a good location, but the room maintenance is very poor. We would not recommend this hotel, unless you are desperate. The junior suite was similar in condition to a 3 star hotel, but dirty.

The Impiana is in a good location on Patong Beach close to the markets and a 10 min walk to the main shopping mall. We booked a superior room (the lowest type available) for approximately AU$230. I thought that this was quite expensive considering the size of the room which was quite small and compact. We had stayed in other 5 star resorts within Thailand for less and with more space! All of the rooms also had connecting doors to the other rooms which was a nightmare if you needed to rest. We were next door to a family with kids screaming all day and night and we could not find anytime to sleep. The room we had was also quite close to the entrance and we could hear the music pumping from the street. I would advise you to request a room that is far away from the entrance. I would also recommend that the hotel remove the connecting doors or install soundproof doors to remove this inconvenience. The staff spoke english relatively well which was a bonus and the american breakfast was the best we have had during our 2 week trip. I would go back there for the breakfast and the location but they must remove those connecting doors!!!!! Believe me you will not get any rest if you have noisy neighbours.

We love the location, just nice in the heart of Patong busy streets yet the hotel is right on the beach itself. This makes it super-convenient and safe for families with small children.
