Hotel is a nice quiet oasis at a very busy traffic junction. Hotel shd do more with controlling the mosquitoes at the courtyard area. No incense or mosquitoes traps were around the area. Despite insect sprays - my partner and i got bitten on our palms, fingers and face for the 2 nights we sat at the courtyard. (2) Food at Meric is really BELOW par. From breakfast to lunch to dinner. We tried to khmer tasting menu for dinner and it was really atrocious. Heavy handed cooking by the chefs (inexperienced?) - either TOO sweet or TOO salty. We tried khmer food in other hotels/places and non turned out quite as bad. E.g. the khmer preserved lime soup- it was sooo salty- we sent it back and still it was salty when they returned. We tried similar soups in Grandhotel and it was perfect and refreshing. I dont believe Meric should hail itself as a exciting khmer restaurant when it cannot even get the basic soups right. Cappucino is not served right (its like latte); the cafe bar bakery and deli sandwiches are paltry in the fillings; lunch menu selection at meric is quite limited - all heavy meat items and not balanced. (3) overall restaurant staff is not experienced (we had to approach the lounge cafe gals to prepare our coffee who were chatting away after waiting 15 mins for our coffee to be served); (4) we were not very pleased either with how the hotel added charges to our lexus car service - WIHTOUT informing us or getting our agreement first on the extras that were incurred as we drove to Bantaey Seri. Neither the driver not hotel reception informed us on this. The agreement was we take the car out for 2 days and each time 8 hours for a fixed price - and that should be it. The hotel confirmation on the car on email said NOTHING on terms and conditions and/or price exclusions. We felt this is very un-professional practice (altho we paid for it). Another couple checking out had the same experience. We give this a MAJOR THUMBS DOWN and would like this to be addressed directly back to me.
(4) Cleanliness fo the rooms - the cleaners dont do a very good job there. They leave empty water bottles in the room; didnt notice that the toilet seats itself were dirty and not cleaned as well.
