1.The Hotel Services were very good.
2.The room was No.015 which was clean but poorly maintaned: On arrival the room teleohones did not work; the batroom/toilet flooded with clean water when the toilet was flushed; a large crak between the wall and the toilet door frame; sea view from room included a side view of a derilect building/demolition site (which should have been screened); a maintenance team were in the room for approx. 1 hour to repair the telephone fault and the water leak.
3. The pre-cooked buffet food was plentiful but of average quality. The buffet food was good only when cooked to order by a proper chef. The absence of pork/ham/bacon is inexcusable (pork/ham/bacon available in the best international hotels in the middle east and the Emirates)

If you want to feel the atmosphere of the far east, you must stay at Eastern & Oriental Hotel in Georgetown.

A great hotel, service is excellent, the 1885 is a great place to dine. I found the E&O to be outstanding.

The service is absolutely excellent. The deluxe suite is spacious and very pleasant. Everything works. We really enjoyed our stay at the hotel.

Nice place with some security problems. My PDA was stolen from the locked room. Staff helpfull, but no compensation at all from the hotel - so be carefull!!!

The staff went out of the to make sure our stay was satisfafactory.Excellent service,food,and ambiance. We had a wonderful time and would make the E & O our first choice on our return and highly recommend it

The hotel itself is excellent - top quality facilities, friendly staff and amazing rooms. The pool area is also nice but the hotel is not that close to any good quality restaurants - tho the hawker markets down the road do allow a taste of authentic local foods. A stay at E&O is definately worth the money.
