Hotel is quite old from the look of the room condition. like 14" TV set and missing remote control, damage bed table control panel, housekeeping on the wardroobe could be improve, missing cloth hanger behind the bath room door, missing shower curtain. Hotel is currently going thru some refurbishing. Hopefully, will look new then.

THE ROOM HELD FOR US WAS NOT UP TO BASIC WESTERN STANDARD. WE RECEIVED AN UPGRADE TO A VERY COMFORTABLE QUIET ROOM, LARGE WITH GOOD VIEWS. LOCAL BREAKFAST ONLY, NO LUNCH AVAILABLE ANY DAY, EVENING MEALS SOME DAYS. THE STAFF WERE VERY PLEASANT. HOTEL IS CLOSE TO SHOPPING PLAZA, PORT, CAR HIRE ETC. VIA PLEASANT WORK THRU PARK. NO SWIMMING BEACH BUT CLEAN POOL AT HOTEL. REBURBISHMENT IN PROGRESS!!

I was very impressed at the helpfulness of the manager of Eagle Bay, and of the Ms Ana at latestay asia in suggesting we change and in organising a refund.

I chose this hotel because it is close to the jetty (and it was close to the seaview hotel - Official hotel for the Langkawi Ironman race / which I joined)
Hotel is well located, close to jetty and shopping mall.
There is a small swimming pool (cold water!?) which is nice to relax your legs before and after the race.
The breakfast is OK with pasta, rice, omelet, bread, jam, tea, coffee and so on.
The staff is very nice and friendly.
The main troubles I had is that my room was just opposite a Mosque, and the windows are not really soundproof so I had a wake-up call everyday at 6.20am (real loud wake-up call, nice prayer, nice melody by the way but still). And 4 to 5 times a day, especially from 8pm to 9pm...
Only a few local TV channel
And many small ants coming over to finish your breakfast everytime some sugar, bread, food is staying on the table without protection!
Apart from that it is a good value for money, you can bring you bike into the room which is not allowed in every hotel on Langkawi (Bayview for example).
And overall I had a nice stay at Eagle Bay
