We found the staff friendly and helpful and the room was excellent. We would definitely stay here again.
Be aware that although the hotel is peaceful and there was no noise from outside, the street is lively and and gives the feeling of not being safe.

Good location, close to subway system - 5 minutes walk. May need to chase up reservation/confirmation directly with Singapore Berajaya as reservation on web is via Malaysian Berajaya.

Closure of restaurant and consequent lack of most meals or room service was a big negative and should have been advised to clients prior to arrival. Reduced room rates would be appropriate under these circumstances since you could not provide a normal range of services. Some problems with night time noise from adjacent properties.

Great location near Chinatown. A street with a lot of character. Lots of bars with late night revelling, but the double glazing kept the noise out. The airconditioning plant right outside our bedroom window was a bit noisy as was the aircon in our room. However we soon got used to it. Reception staff very friendly and helpful. Good, cheap eating in nearby Maxwell Road.

We were horrified that to get to our room we had to walk through a narow corridor crowded with luggages and trolleys. When I mentioned this to the receptionist I was informed that we have been upgraded! Then we found that there was no chair in front of the dressing table and had to request for one. We were also not provided the customary complimentary 2 bottles of water.

Very pretty hotel, but...initially were given a room with broken AC. When we asked to move, we were placed in a smaller room that was newly refurbished, but as it turned out not finished (no chain lock on the door, no in-room safe). There was too little staff at night (front desk clerk had to play hotel engineer, bell boy and house keeper) and in the morning the information we recevied was incorrect (housekeeping delievered a room service menu without breakfast choices when we rang asking for this and in response to a request regarding where to get transport to our next itinerary stop we were given information that placed us more than a mile away from where we actually needed to be).

The allocated suite was dirty, the carpet especially filthy, and generally it was in serious need of some renovation. I would not revisit unless I thought these matters had been addressed.
I was also unhappy with the billing arrangements, which were not conducted in accordance with my understanding of the booking conditions.

Good location in interesting area but some rooms would be noisey. Do not assume full bathroom includes a bath.
Continental breakfasts poor.

Very characterful hotel, lovely old chinese artifacts and furniture. Small rooms, surrounded by dubious bars but only a problem at night
