I liked the hotel from location and price point of view. However, the hotel does not have internet facility in the room, although I was ready to make extra payment for internet service. I could get easily Indian, Nepali and Chinese food. The room has no natural ventilation, resulting suffocation when I used to enter in room after some time.

Well, i dont think that it was a good decision on my part to choose Syed Alwi Hotel because of more than one reason. The Hotel is located in the middle of this very noisy, bustling city-street crowded by indian people which make a lot of noise and disturb your sleep. The Hotel lacks cleanininess, and it has a wierd smell in it. I had to complete my stay because i was so much out of cash that i had no choice. On my last day i saw a vietnamese family suffering on the second floor of the hotel, their room AC was not working and the washroom`s drainage facility was also bummed. I will not recommend this hotel to anyone else in the future unless and untill they want to make their trip to singapore a disaster. The locality of the hotel is pathetic, so different from the rest of singapore, no sign of LAW, DISCIPLINE, CLEANINESS. There are smelly garbage cans everywhere. Apart from the Mustapha Centre which is a 24hr over-filled shopping centre full of indians and other people, the area lack anyother place. The resturants mostly serve to Indian Customers and are over-priced and serve stinky food. I will NEVER go to such an hotel again.

very disappointed with the size of the room, looks great in the photos, but we could hardly sqeeze our luggage in, from now on I will not trust these kind of pics. again, for $80.00 a night in Singapore we can stay in much better hotels.

The Hotel is not at all suitable for family stay. The bath water comes outside the room.Toilets not clean and having leakage. No sufficient AC cooling. Internet usage there but working on 1 of the 3 machines only. Never can be reommended to others.
